Dedicated to Portable Music:
The May/June Special Double Issue

This special double issue for May/June is dedicated to headphones and portable music—of every medium. The iPod is all the rage right now, but whether you’re listening to an MP3, CD, cellphone, or some other format—or even a cassette tape—this issue is dedicated to the glorious invention of portable music.
I spent a lot of time writing these reviews while sitting on my deck, sipping a drink at the coffeehouse, or while walking to work. Because the music was coming through my headphones, it really got in my head. I heard the rhythms, the melodies, and the lyrics. They come from the LEFT and the RIGHT and meet in the middle in my brain.
What you got here is what my brain spills back out after listening to the music. I hope you enjoy!
