Electronica: T.Raumschmiere's Blitzkrieg Pop

Blitzkrieg Pop
“Are you sick like me? Honestly?” are the welcoming words from electronica punker T.Raumschmiere on his new album, Blitzkrieg Pop. It’s a challenge to your self-important self-image while also a rallying cry for those who already see their sickness. While turning in some fine blips and bleeps of electronica, T.Raumschmiere excels when pursuing his punk-fueled dance tracks. Unfortunately, after being charged up by “Sick Like Me,” you’ve got to scan ahead five tracks for another throwdown on “A Mess.”

“A Very Loud Lullaby” finds beautifully creepy vocals from Sandra Nasic (ex-Guano Apes), a mix between Miss Kittin, Evanescence, and Heart. “An Army of Watt” calls you to be all you can be on the dance-mosh floor. The title cranks heavy metal double rhythms on the drums, smashing down all the doors as the album makes its way for the exit.

One other disappointment: with a title as clever as “Patridiot,” the track deserves lyrics. As an instrumental, there’s a sense of disillusionment with unquestioning citizens, but it’d be great to hear T.Raumschmiere punk-pontificate on the issue of those idiot patriots.
